Bertrams Guldsmeden Hotel in Copenhagen, a cozy, eco-friendly boutique hotel is renown for being home-from-home with its lush rooms, organic breakfast and friendly service. Enjoy reading some of the books in the lounge or a pre dinner drink in the beautiful hotel court yard.
When visiting Copenhagen, for business or pleasure with a busy schedule, staying at a central, comfortable hotel offering peace and quiet is crucial. As part of the environmentally friendly Hotel Guldsmeden chain, the Bertrams is located in Vesterbro only a 10 minutes stroll from the CPH central station, offers down to earth hospitality and an unusual yet cozy ambiance.
I had a room on the 3rd floor, in a Balinese style with two large windows letting the sunrise in every morning, a fantastic comfortable double bed, a desk for work with free wireless Internet access, enough space for my suitcase, wardrobe containing a robe, slippers, iron and ironing board, a large bathroom with a bathtub (like I requested), organic toiletries and hairdryer. There’s a lift from the reception, or you can choose to take the stairs for exercise. In the morning they serve organic breakfast in the dining area. On one occasion, when I didn’t have time for breakfast but rushed in for a quick coffee, the staff prompted me to at least have a homemade smoothie on the go. And it saved my morning for sure!
The only problem with this hotel is that you’re not tempted to go out clubbing as it’s so nice to come back “home” to your cozy room, made up to impeccable standard by the housekeeper every day and to jump into the snug bed for a night in instead.
Now they do say that the other Gulsmeden hotels is more family friendly, but I do hope we can take Little A and B for a family stay. I’m sure the other hotels in the chain Gulsmeden are absolutely lovely but I would love to let the girls experience the hospitality (and the quirky sense of humor) of the owner Nikolas Hall and his staff.
As guests tends to revisit and with a great rating at travel sites like TripAdvisor early booking is highly recommended. And while you are at it book your bicycle too, via the hotel so that you’ll blend nicely in with the locals and get a true feel of Copenhagen.
