The weekend is finally here and it looks like it will be a beautiful one

Weekend, the period from Friday evening through Sunday evening, especially regarded as a time for leisure. To have a break from everyday hectic life. Do something different. Spend time with loved ones. Smile. And if you are a parent, sleep.

Reading newspapers in bed. Have brunch at your local bakery. Go bicycling with the family. Meet up with friends for a BBQ or a picnic. Listen to music in the garden. This is all part of how I relax and leisure. How about you? How do you spend your weekends?

Over the last week I’ve come across a variety of things that caught my attention. One is the pic above. Love the quietness in the picture. Which reminded me of what Defining Scandinavia said in their recent Newsletter, about Detox Living. How to live a happier life without too much clutter. I like the thinking!

Another lovely idea, featured in the BBC article covering the 75 year old Finnish stately concept of giving expecting mothers a starter kit (even included bed and snowsuit!). The author said after receiving the Starter Kit: “It strengthens that feeling that we are all in this together.”. Do not miss it, read the inspirational article Why Finnish babies sleep in cardboard boxes.

If you find some spare time this weekend, there are many nice blogs to enjoy. One I enjoyed in particular this week was thebluecloset.com. The kids fashion blog features girls, boys and tween style, photo shoot inspiration in addition to popular series featuring family life. The blog posts written by Cassaundra features her chilled American West Coast family life together with her gorgeous little girl, Ruby. Ruby even has her own series, Ruby Tuesdays -too cute!

I will also use the weekend to some much needed maintenance on the blog. If you have a blog, and not quite sure on “how to”, see the step by step guide Monthly Blog Maintenance Checklist by a company that’s called Legal Productivity. Very helpful indeed.

And when that’s all done, why not treat yourself to a glass of bubbly? After all, Champagne is improving your memory study finds, according to the Telegraph. I’m not going to question it!

I hope you have a wonderful first weekend of June! See you soon, I hope, here on the blog. Kisses, Bianca x
