This picture is from 2009. The Summer holiday had come to an end, Miss A had started reception and I decided to take the leap into full time blogging. So how did it all start?
I had been blogging since 2007 on a private blog meant for family and close friends in Norway. The blog was started about the same time as we moved from Oslo to Edinburgh and served as a place to share all my new discoveries. Then after a year and a half in Scotland we thought we’d give London a try. We quickly settled in Hampstead, making new friends and getting used to a cosmopolitan city life. Then a year later, Miss B went into Y3 and Miss A started Reception. Enjoying blogging and having more time on my hands, with both children in school, I decided to give full-time blogging a go.
I had been blogging on blogger, but changed into WordPress. I made use of Social Media available, and signed up to Twitter in the Autumn of 2009 as well as making a page for the blog on Facebook.
The niche I landed on was Scandinavian design and lifestyle for the family. This is what we started out as and 6 years later, we are still the Little Scandinavian in London, blogging in our very own little Nordic universe.
On the blog you can expect to find out about…
travel, with inspiration for family travel to the Nordic region, when to go, specials places to see and do, as well as tips on what to pack and how to dress in freezing temperatures…

Fashion and children’s clothing, with a focus on natural materials in a timeless design. Stylish and sustainable Scandinavian fashion for kids and women, what’s new and intersting, all on the blog.

We share lots of inspiration for interior, with a focus on kids room.

Originally we are from Norway, so we do write about living in Scandinavia vs the UK and sometimes what it is like living a expat life. But more so we feature fun things to do in London, with kids of course.

And sometimes it’s all about mummy – and women’s fashion and style. More classic than couture, more functional than fun. Just beautiful and wearable styles that you’ll feel and look good in.
We’ve gone from strength to strength. Blogging is like a rollercoaster, with ups and down, never one day the same and with the pleasure of getting to know lots of interesting and very talented people on our way.
So today, to celebrate our 6th anniversary we will be having the classic cream cake from Sweden, Prinsesstårta. Recipe from our Little Scandinavian Kitchen.
