The Scandinavian Christmas Markets in London is an opportunity to secure essential delicatessen and decoration for the holidays. There are three wonderful Scandinavian Christmas markets this November; the Norwegian and the Danish ‘Julebasar’ and the Swedish ‘Julmarknad’. And here are the dates, for your diary.

On offer is Scandinavian christmas foods and cookies. You can purchase Christmas decorations as well as beautiful Christmas gifts from various Scandinavian designers. There’s also hand made knitwear and beautiful textiles and of course proper candles in top quality. Food and drinks are available to purchase throughout, there’s music and activities for the children.

Sjømannskirken London – The Norwegian Seaman’s Church London 18 to 22 November
1.St.Olav’s Square, Albion Street, Rotherhithe, London SE16 7JB. Nearest tube st: Bermondsey
Opening hours: Wednesday and Thursday 5 to 8pm, Friday 11 to 8pm, Saturday 10 to 7pm and Sunday 12:30 to 5pm.

Svenska Kyrkan London – The Swedish Church London 19 to 22 November
6 Harcourt Street, London W1H 4AG. Nearest tube st: Edgware Road
Opening hours: Thursday 11am to 8pm, Friday closed, Saturday 11am to 7pm and Sunday 12 to 5pm.

Danske KFUK i London – Danish YWCA London 28 to 28 November
43 Maresfield Gardens, Hampstead, London NW3 5TF. Nearest tube st: Hampstead and Finchley Rd.
Opening hours: Saturday 11am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm.

Now, I’ll leave it to you to decide which of the Scandinavian Christmas Fair you prefer (if you just not happen to love Scandinavian Christmas and are planning on attending all three events!) which has the best atmosphere and last but not east, serves the best Scandinavian mulled wine, gløgg.

  1. Wish I could attend one or all of these but it’s gonna be another year where it won’t happen because my family are all boring and never want to do anything remotely nice or fun. 🙁 Hope you enjoy it, though 🙂
