CIFF kids, from 3rd to 5th of February at Forum Copenhagen, was fully booked with exhibitors from the Nordic countries and beyond. And with a record breaking number of visitors, more than double since the January 2015 show, it was three full days packed with buying, networking and inspiration for the industry.
Apparently the big increase in visitors was due to more international buyers;
“We can most certainly feel that there has been an increasing in the international buyers this season, which has meant new customers for us from i.e. Russia and Korea. Having participated in other European trade shows this season, we have noticed that several buyers have spoken positively about CIFF KIDS” – Jacob Høilund, Owner of Someday Soon.
”We have had a significant progress in the number of international visitors and have obtained new customers from countries like Switzerland, Austria, Russia, UK, US and also the number of visitors from the Scandinavian countries has been better this time. It is a positive development which we think is caused by to things; that CIFF has put a lot of effort into attracting the international buyers but also that the crises has lifted for many of the European countries.” – Jeanne D Larsen, Petit Nord
CIFF KIDS moved to Forum Copenhagen in January 2015 and has since then developed from being a kid’s fashion fair into an innovative kid’s fashion and lifestyle hub for people to come and do business, network and establish new and exciting collaborations.
CIFF kids trend area, curated by Peggy from Paul et Paula, featuring an eclectic mix of designers surrounded by lifestyle products, kids decor and toys.
Long term favourite brand GRO Company. Amazingly soft and comfy pieces, such as the baggy trousers for tots as well as styles from the basic collection, well known from previous seasons re-appearing with new and and exciting prints and styles added.
Soft Gallery – A design concept and artist collective. We do not have permission to share too much with you just yet. But it will come closer to the time the collection will be launched in store.
Poppy Rose’s colours and prints for AW16 are simply divine. Quality and finish is superb with a collection of mix and match styles. Our prediction is that the Head of design Minna Speerschneider Larsen has created another collection with sell-out pieces.
Someday Soon bang on trend with this gorgeous two toned colour combined with metallic gold.
Then there’s me… snapping away with my camera to share my finds with you on the blog.
Rock the Goat with a luxurious collection of fine knits. We in particular liked the lighter coloured part of the collection, in line with the glacier colours predicted by CIFF kids to be a big trend for AW16.
The contemporary, iceberg design could be a future design classic.
These (rain) boots are made for walking! Wellington boots like you’ve never seen before by Danish brand Rugged Gear. All in all a funky collection of kids footwear for AW16.
Christina Rohde has been on our watch list for the last few seasons after stepping up the game with kidswear for the new decade. It’s a lovely mix of new and old, heritage and innovation. And we simply love the glam street style. Faux fur teamed with jersey trousers is simply so Scandi chic!
And this adorable little soft jersey sweater, with lovely Liberty print cotton blouse details. Adorable!
More bold colours, textures and fabrics are seen throughout, also in parts of the Christina Rohde collection, making the pieces more luxurious.
There is always some new brands and design talents at the fair, well worth checking out. We spotted and liked The Fifth Child with its pared-down style combined with a urban twist.
The designers are there, presenting their own collection. We had he pleasure of meeting Marlene from MarMar Copenhagen. Some stunning styles in this collection too with lots of exciting fabrics in classic shapes. And yes, there’s leopard for AW16 too! To the right: Marlene Anine Holmboe together with new Norwegian agent, Monica C. Horne.
Head of Design Louise Paprika Clemmensen at ‘the New’ proudly introduced the very first collection from this Danish brand at the trade show.
How To Kiss a Frog with the fab designer duo was exhibiting AW16, with style and quality as we have come to expect from this Swedish brand.

Some of the many international brands we discovered at CIFF kids; Maison Chaos which is launching their first collection in August 2016. Not only does the brand provide clothes for superheroes daily adventures – it has also been mentioned by WGSN as one of “Three standout kidswear brands for 2016”.
Roksanda, from the UK womenswear label with the same name which is known for its modern take on feminine styles. Striking combinations of vibrant colour that typify these designs lends itself beautifully to childrenswear. The girls collection is featuring block colours, simple cuts and cute girly styles.

Outside the entrance new outerwear brand SWAYS had a amazing display of three raincoats, inside giants ice blocks. Pretty cool display – and another brand to check out!
The above display is a example that CIFF kids distinguish themselves as a trade show for not only presenting children’s fashion but one of the largest fashion, lifestyle and interior fairs in Europe.
