And when we thought our complete Iceland obsession had reached its climax, As We Grow decided to share their new pieces for next winter with us…

We are completely obsessed with Iceland these days. It started with the Icelandic film RAMS (screening in UK cinemas now), followed by the highly addictive crime drama television series on BBC4, ‘Trapped’.

The series is set in Seyðisfjörður, a remote town in northern Iceland, which is not too different from another dream destination we have, Husavik. Together with the luxury hotel we recently did a blog post on, the ION adventure hotel.

We simply lust after everything Iceland! So when Icelandic children’s wear brand As We Grow sent over a sneaky preview of their coming collection of gorgeous knitwear – we just had to share it with you!

Both the film RAMS and the series Trapped feature a lot of incredibly cool traditional knitwear from Iceland. As We grow is a label who spins on the traditional design heritage, with a playful (it is after all a children’s brand) and contemporary twist with some amazing block colours.

Besides the striking design we love the fact that this is a slow fashion brand, with high focus on sustainability. The clothes are made of quality fabrics such as alpaca wool and pima cotton and the children’s sizes are specially designed to grow with the child, so a garment will last for several years before it can be handed down to younger siblings. And it’s all ethical. As We Grow uses only natural fibers, and the suppliers have been certified by bsci, intertek and vf corporation as social responsible companies.

The brand caters for children from the age of 6 months up to age 12 years.
