Cloudberry Living, established in 2007 is an online design store specialising in Scandinavian gifts and home accessories for a nordic style. With a focus on sustainable design the shop offers products that are made to last, that are functional and beautiful.
Cloudberry Living is named after the rare wild growing fruit, also known as the golden jewel of the North, that you have to search for and harvest by hand. Inspired by the delightful berry, Cloudberry Living is offering a handpicked selection of iconic Scandinavian designer brands as well as emerging new designers, to the UK.
Brands available includes Iittala, Ferm Living, By Nord Copenhagen, &Traditions, Marimekko, Normann Copenhagen and now also Stinne Gorell.
Danish brand Stinne Gorells designs are made from sustainable, natural or recycled materials and produced according to fair trade standards.
Most of the collection are lovingly handmade by Danish women who work from their own homes in Denmark, all part of a group that offers an opportunity of paid work, fellowship and purpose. The cluster of knitting women meet once a month, where wool will change hands, coffee will be consumed and laughter will flow.
A few pieces in the collection has been made in Bolivia, but always after fair trade standard, in support of the local community. You should also know that Stinne Gorell proudly support the Danish educational charity Building Communities’s work in Guatemala.
One popular piece from the Stinne Gorell collection is this sumptuously soft alpaca wool winter hat complete with a fluffy alpaca fur pom pom. This is truly the ultimate luxurious winter accessory, designed and made by hand in Denmark and signed the knitter who created it. The alpaca wool is sourced from free roaming highland alpacas that live a long and happy life.
