Boys Fashion 2-8y

Good morning sunshine!

Little B had a athletics competition in School yesterday. Half way through it and we got caught in a sudden downpour, thunder and lightning and had to escape home, soaked by the rain.
Hope the weekend has some sunshine in store for us -So good morning, sunshine and happy weekend to you all!

Our ballerina, Little B is off to her RAD Grade 3 ballet exam today. It’s all rather exciting with her leotard freshly washed and the character skirt ironed. I have about 1 meter of blond hair to create into a smart ballerina hairdo and a nervous little person to calm down. I’m sure she’ll be fine and I’m looking forward to head out in the sunshine with her. Wish you all a very Happy Tuesday!

Iglo for Kids in the Spring

Iglo Kids Clothing was founded in 2008 by the Icelandic designer Helga Olafsdóttir and her friend Lovisa Olafsdottir. There is a world wide and exotic inspiration behind the collection for spring summer 2011; the beautiful cherry blossom, the colourful houses of Key West and the Bahamas, exotic birds and of course playful and active children.
And Ígló is into the details; bows, buttons and ruffles upon ruffles for girls and contrast stitching and grandpa’s elbow patches for boys. The entire collection is a mix of bright and subtle colours, quite successfully done. I must say that this is one of the brands where I do prefer the boys clothing. It’s something very urban yet playful.
I’m excited about getting to know this brand a bit better at CPH Kids in February. I will report my findings.
Until then I do hope hope you’ll enjoy the pictures of their current collection.

Petit by Sofie Schnoor autumn winter 2010

Yes, we still love Danish fashion designer Sofie Schnoor! Especially after seeing her subtle and nostalgic collection;
Petit by Sofie Schnoor autumn winter 2010.

Sofie Schnoor was originally a shoe designer, hence the great selection of trendy footwear. We find the entire collection being a mix of the pure and simple look with raw details that’s so trendy now.
All products are made using only long-lasting, soft materials of high quality with no use of fabricated or artificial materials.

I really did try to be selective, but just had to show you and share these beautiful pieces.

Nova Star cool soft Swedish children’s design

Recently we met up for a coffee and a chat with charming Nina. Nina, originally from Stockholm Sweden, told us smiling and excited that after having her son Isak in 2009 she wanted to find an alternative to checked shirt and dungarees for boys. She got very much into unique street-style clothes purchased in Scandinavia. And after lots of comments and questions about the urban, unisex and super comfortable children’s wear Isak was wearing she decided to share the Scandinavian secret with the UK and founded her own agency, Fun Little Things, in 2010, with the current main focus on Swedish children’s fashion label Nova Star.

Isak, truly enjoying his Nova Star hoodie

Preppy Moonkids

Moonkids is a Swedish fashion design company, producing clothes for children 0y-12y. Initially Moonkids was inspired mainly by the 60′s and 70′s, which is still apparent in the up to 4 yearly collections they launch.

For AW10 they have three high fashion lines; Rock, Street and Preppy. The Preppy line is inspired by British preppy school uniforms as well as the Amercian preppy sports wear.

The Preppy style is truly in season. While I’m unsure about the look-a-like uniforms I quite like the checked pieces that could work very well with lot’s of other styles.

Warning: Moonkids claim they test all their clothing on real children! ;)

Visit www.moonkids.se to see more of preppy, rock and street styles.
