For one week only; Pale Cloud Pop up Shop in London

Visit the Pale Cloud Pop up Shop at Wild Swans in Chiswick or Islington, for one week only, from Monday 23rd April 2012.

It’s with great excitement the recently launched children’s fashion designer brand Pale Cloud are hosting a pop up shop at Wild Swans in London. Wild Swans prides themselves to have the best selection of chic Scandinavian women’s fashion, beautiful but with an edge. The Danish owner, Caroline van Luthje, mixes up and coming designers with the more established ones and is constantly adding new designers that are not yet represented in the UK. Sounds like the Norwegian designer behind Pale Cloud have found the perfect place to showcase their styles for SS12! pale-cloud.com

Pale Cloud, fashion for girls from 2 to 12 years, has such a luxurious feel and is a pure delight to wear. You should see the smiling faces when my girls are slipping into the beautiful garments by Pale Cloud… bliss! The designer label is so far only available online in the UK, making this a unique chance to see, touch and feel the gorgeous collection. A must visit event!

The Wild Swans boutiques are located in Chiswick and in Islington, both locations because of their individuality with a genuine village feel. The shops have a calm Scandinavian style -which makes you feel very welcome.
Caroline and her team also like to make a real effort to ensure the ultimate customer experience when visiting Wild Swans. In addition to a fantastic selection of Scandinavian exclusive fashion Champagne is served at the weekends and toys are provided for little ones. Yes, please! I’m on my way!

Must see Retro baby rain boots by Viking

We have already seen the Scandinavian Dad’s very first baby shoes. But look what we found in the attic at the ScandinavianDad’s childhood home this time around; A pair of red retro baby wellies in size European 21 from Norwegian wellington boot and rainwear specialist Viking (called Viking Footwear today). With wool inner lining, cool drawstring detail, probably from the late 70′s but still in pristine condition. And matching his bright red dungarees from once upon a time

This children’s rain boot is probably similar to the Viking Classic Winter boots sold today. The main difference is a sole with better grip and the waterproof drawstring top now in a more modern nylon material to keep them against a wet winter with snow, slush and rain. Still with a warm lining and a removable sole for quick dry. Although we can’t help liking the look and feel of the high quality 35 year old nostalgic boots slightly better.
Perhaps Viking Footwear would consider doing a Retro Classic Winter limited edition?!

In the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean between Norway and Greenland, the volcanic island and country mainly consist of tundra with sand fields, mountains and glaciers. The sculptural apparel, made locally in Finland and Estonia, is made of natural materials like cotton (organic where possible) and bamboo. Available in size 1-7 years from the Minuminu E-shop.

GRO Company Spring Summer 12

So we dropped off Little A on the airport yesterday, traveling ‘Unaccompanied Minor’ to Norway. My mum was waiting for her in Oslo and we could see in a photo that came through on my phone that straight after arrival she was already playing in the snow. But of course we miss her. Can’t wait to be reunited later this week.
Meanwhile there’s lots to do in London! Last week I met Gabrielle from the children’s fashion online shop Scandinavian Minimall for lunch at the Scandinavian restaurant Madsen. (Madsen is one of my favourite eateries in London) We were celebrating Scandinavian Minimall’s 1 year anniversary, outside on the terrace in the sun. Chatting away about what a hidden gem Madsen really is. The food is simply outstanding. And talking about outstanding… that got us talking about GRO Company. The Danish label know for comfortable design, yet very urban and cool in the softest and purest organic cotton. Gabrielle said this was probably the best collection she’s seen from GRO so far. And we love the new colours! What do you think?

Little A’s fashion choice on Non Uniform Day

End of term and Non Uniform Day as a treat. Little A chose her own clothes this morning; Tweed jacket, vintage from local charity shop, gorgeous Adrine denim balloned shorts from Pale Cloud SS12, favourite Cat Ballerina by Mina Shoes and flowery Liberty bag for Hello Kitty (in plastic), bought by the Scandinavian Dad on a business trip to Hong Kong.

This photo was snapped on the way to school, slightly rushed but still time to enjoy chatting to the ducks on the local pond.
