Marie Soudré-Richard, 38, is the founder of Little Fashion Gallery, a pioneering children’s fashion and home website that has made an art out of showing life with children as chic and aspirational through its selective and carefully art-directed selection of brands and collections. “So Long, Farewell”

by Scandinavian mum

I went to a Memories Assembly for my daughter in Y6 this morning. The leavers were all sharing some fond memories, then the younger children got up in true The von Trapp family style singing “So Long, Farewell”. At the end of the Assembly there were a ocean of used tissues on the floor, in it suddenly daunted on me that my little baby is about to leave primary school.

But life is not only about being a parent of school children. I have a recent obsession with interior and home. I think it must be the need of bringing the summer and the light in, to make sure we make the most out of summer. Something the Scandinavian architects and interior designers are so renown for. Best Scandinavian interior blogs at the moment, excellent at sharing the simplicity of a Scandinavian design home are My Scandinavian Home and Beautiful Living.

My good friend and Finnish multi-talent, Kaisa Larkas announced on Twitter today that she’s closing down her women’s fashion venture to focus on her personal training business. Make sure to check out the sale, before it’s too late, at POP The Fashion Store

On a different note, have you seen the weather forecast for the weekend? Apparently there’s soaring 31 degrees and basking sunshine ahead. Have you made any nice plans, to enjoy the weather?

Wishing a you the most fantastic weekend, and hope to see you soon again here on the blog. Kisses, Bianca

This week we read several articles about children and food. Thought to be extinct ‘Seafarers’ disease’ on rise among children due to lack of vitamin C in diet. There was also this article in the Guardian, about children and fuzzy eating we found very interesting; When did kids become gourmets? I really enjoyed that article, and think the author is highlighting some truly important issues in our society. We need to make sure our children get a healthy and balanced diet with their daily dose of fruit and vegetables as a minimum.

Do you remember we talked about Why Finnish babies sleeps in cardboard boxes? Well, now Finland have decided to send the Duchess of Cambridge a traditional baby kit complete with a cardboard cot too. Do you think the royal baby will be sleeping in a box?

Blog love this week includes the Swedish blog Mokkasin. There’s a true relaxed Scandinavian feel on the blog, featuring a stylish Nordic family life. The blogger is also an amazing photographer. All very inspiring.
This weekend sees the kids trade show, Playtime Paris in full swing too. We recommend to pop by our friend, Paul et Paula to see the latest updates and kids fashion news from the Paris event.

Wishing you a beautiful weekend, and hope to see you here on the blog soon again. Kisses, Bianca x
