New Generals, styles and silhouettes for AW12

New Generals is all about being innovative, being ethical and creating the coolest fashion apparel for kids at the same time. Founded in 2008 by the couple Joen and Majbrit Weidemann, both with a background in design, fashion, branding and advertising. After having children they realised there were some New Generals in town! And that these young bosses needed some very special clothes, soft organic being kind to nature and the skin and playful silhouettes to nurture and encourage their unique personalities.

Little Scandinavian had a front row seat at the New Generals catwalk show in February at CPH Kids, and we thought we should share the best photos of this fashion forward, edgy and original collection. A preview of New General AW12!

ISBJÖRN AW12 receives award from Scandinavian Outdoor Group

Founded in 2000 as an industry initiative The Scandinavian Outdoor Group unites well-respected outdoor gear manufacturers from all five Nordic countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland. Together they represent more than 1.880 years of experience in developing outdoor gear using one of the best equipped R&D labs in the world – the Scandinavian wilderness.

The competition for the Scandinavian Outdoor Industry is being hosted by S.O.G. since 2006. Up to 20 products from Scandinavian Outdoor Group member brands get nominated every season to compete for the Scandinavian Outdoor Award. The winning product gets selected according to the criteria functionality, quality, innovation and design.

The winners for Winter 2012/13 are:
SOA Overall Winner: Gaiter Trouser No. 1 by Fjällräven
SOA Sustainability Award: Freke Trousers by Klättermusen
SOA Jury’s Honorable Mention: Light Weight Baby Jumpsuit Eco by Isbjörn of Sweden

Light Weight Baby Jumpsuit Eco by Isbjörn of Sweden for 2012/13 has a new 100% recycled polyester outer layer from TEIJIN Eco Circle. With this improvement the product is entirely made out of recycled material (except the zipper!) and is also 100% recyclable. So a great looking and a technical product -and 100% eco-friendly! No compromise!


Little A has been kept comfortable, dry and warm throughout the freezing months in London too -wearing Isbjorn of Sweden from top to toe. And we absolutely love this brand, great quality and design. Congratulations to Isbjorn of Sweden!

Bubble London AW12, day 1

Home after a afternoon well spent at the Trade Show Bubble London in Islington. Met with some great people in the industry, talked to some absolutely lovely retailers and agents and some very inspirational designers. Here’s a photo journal of our day.

The one to watch at Playtime Paris

BANGBANG Copenhagen, founded by the Danish designers Louise Lundholm and Mia Risager, has a strong focus on playful and creative design for children age 1-8 years. We love the fluorescent colours and bold print that creates such a quirky and unique expression.

Sneak peek, new styles by Lobilo for AW12

Up and coming Swedish designer brand Lobilo is on our ‘the ones to watch’ at CPH kids in February. Lobilo’s collection for Autumn Winter 2012 for boys and girls are made of soft eco friendly cotton, with a comfortable cut, almost naive in it’s expression but at the same time slightly understated in a rather intriguing way. We definitely like what we see in these pictures and are very much looking forward to see the collection and meet with the designer in Copenhagen in a weeks time.

Promo video by Jumina

The designer needs not only to create a wonderful collection but also make sure it’s presented in the best possible way in order for it to be picked up by the retailers. There’s been an exciting development with look book pictures lately, with models wearing the clothes in chosen settings and surroundings, with the look book being a rather enjoyable read. Some even launch a Lifestyle Magazine with the fab photos captured by some very talented photographers that works within children’s fashion.

New promotional tool for the fashion designers is now to launch a video along with their collections -we quite like the one from Jumina. The photographer Jens E. Haugen is behind the video featuring the AW12 collection by the Norwegian designer brand.


Jumina will be sharing their latest collection with the British kids fashion industry during the trade show Bubble London.

Preview Pale Cloud AW12

It’s out, the pictures from the look book for Pale Cloud’s Autumn Winter 2012 collection, ready for the upcoming trade shows in only a few weeks time. The very first collection from Pale Cloud was this current winter seasons. A couple of collections on and this children’s designer brand that states they are delivering ‘everyday luxury’ for girls 2 – 12 years clearly have found their path in the high end market with luxurious fabrics, use of fur and details like heavy high quality beading. Did you know as of this season Pale Cloud does accessories like semi-precious jewellery to complete the feel? It’s almost bringing back an era… Only by looking at these photos, shot in Oslo this Christmas (with some darling cute little Norwegian models) by the Norwegian photographer Sigve Aspelund, makes us wish we would live in the times where you could experience the true Orient Express!

The collection is made up of beautifully tailored coats and blazer, slim low crutch pants, highly detailed dresses & tops with both chunky and delicate knits using only the finest of wools. Heavy embellishment on delicate sand washed silk, pleating detail and leather trim are combined with peacock feather prints and fur for a luxurious look of statement dressing.

Pale Cloud will proudly be showing the AW12 collection at Playtime Paris, Bubble London, CIFF Kids Copenhagen and Playtime New York.
