Back in 1999, the Swedish designers Thomas Elbaum and Patrick Osterman created the Vincent brand that is now fast becoming a household name across Scandinavia, Europe and the States. Danish quality shoes byKier

It’s not only established brands like Angulus and Bisgaard that spoil us with a fantastic range of footwear for our little ones.
Like Pom Pom byKier is also a newcomer as a danish brand within shoe design.

Behind the brand is the Danish designer Lone Kier who has 15 years experience as a shoe designer for famous shoes brands, like ECCO and Bundgaard but has since 2005 focused on developing the brand byKier. Lone is trained as a shoe designer at Cordwainers College in London.

byKier make designer shoes for children and tweens in sizes 19-41 in addition to their adult collection. byKier is sold directly from Denmark to the consumer which enables a lower retail price.
Their idea is that all children should be able to get trendy high quality shoes at reasonable prices. Why pay more than you have to and why drag you child from shop to shop to find the right shoes if you can do the shoe fitting and purchase in the comfort of your own home.
byKier is also environmentally concerned, ensuring that all shoes are produced with an awareness of the impacts on workers, communities and ecosystems.

ECCO + GORE-TEX = TRUE

Ecco Gore tex girls

Winter Queen, ECCO. (GORE-TEX)

ECCO was founded in 1963 in Denmark and the vision was to make shoes that would follow the foot instead of the other way round. When I was a little girl, in the 1980s ECCO had an outstanding reputation for making comfortable shoes. But not necessary great on design. Then in late 1980s and early 1990s there was a change. ECCO launched kids’ footwear and dress shoes. The company also led the way in using high-tech fabrics by using GORE-TEX® membranes for enhancing a shoe’s breathability and resistance to the elements. GORE-TEX® insulated comfort footwear keeps feet dry & comfortably warm. Ideal for cold conditions and winter outdoor activities. And by the time we had Beatrice and Amélie ECCO would be our number one choice for winter shoes. The GORE-TEX® would keep them warm and dry, even throughout the Scandinavian cold winters. And without compromising on design.

Even if it’s not even nearly as cold in the UK as in Scandinavia I would still consider buying a pair of ECCO for the girls for the winter season. With the low temperatures we’ve seen so far and with the occasionally snow shower wellington boots is not always warm enough.

Bisgaard, because healthy feet are happy (and trendy) feet!

Bisgaard is a Danish Brand of children shoes (previously known as Cocomma), with innovative design, superior materials and good fit. They have a simple philosophy about making room for creativity and imagination -and children’s feet. Because healthy feet are happy feet!

I came to know them when they were known as Cocomma. I saw a pair of Bisgaard in a small boutique in Oslo, and I was immediately impressed by the quality and the design. With the soft leather and very trendy look in my hands I couldn’t possibly resist buying them. And it was true value for money.

Silver boots with a zip, size 26 -36 Rp £124

Amélie is absolutely head over heels in love with her new champagne coloured boots from danish Sofie Schnoor. I ordered them Sunday night at CooCooMashu, and they arrived this morning, well packed. I hope she’ll not be insisting wearing them to bed tonight.
