Exquisite embroidery by Soft Gallery

With Soft Gallery, the cut of the clothes may be simple, plain and comfortable, but it’s the detail of the embroidery and the sequins that make them completely different. The current AW10 collection is no exception:

Discounted Designer Childrenswear in London

Junior Style is a fun, discounted and child friendly shopping experience; it brings together the traditional to the fun and funky, mini vintage to boutique labels, retro to cute, organic and fair-trade clothing, Nordic to the high-end in one convenient location. Junior Style are not located at one specific venue but uses different venues in London for their pop-up-shop.
The sale caters for babies through to teenagers with top end brands, shoes, accessories, and gifts for newborns, toys and books.

We went to their preview tonight in Belsize Park, and found quite a nice selection from Aya Naya, Mini A Ture, NOA NOA Miniature, Lille Barn, Minymo, Wheat among lots of English, French, Italian and Spanish well known brands. And lots of very nice items for the boys too!
The girls were greeted with cupcakes and had balloon animals made for them when they were not busy browsing themselves.

Beatrice fell in love with a lovely set from NOA NOA and Amélie came home with a cozy (slightly retro) winter coat from Wheat, all at a fraction of retail price.

Warming hand knitted news from Mormor

I’ve mentioned danish label MorMor earlier. A danish company filled up with knitting grannies! All garments are delivered with a signed note, from the granny who knitted the piece, especially for your child. If you can’t find what you are looking for on their site mormor.nu they will be happy to receive any requests too.

They’ve been knitting over the summer and have now launched a few warming autumn news that we really like;

  • A versatile dress that are elastic enough to be converted into a vest and can therefor be a favourite piece for years. Hand knitted in 100% merino wool at £50.
  • Soft and warm set consisting of hat, scarf and gloves. Hand knitted in 100% merino wool at £61.
  • Fashionable short sleeved chunky cardigan hand knitted in 100% alpaca available in several colours at £89

    Childrenswear defying the recession

    According to drapersonline.com childrenswear has been the most resilient clothing sector during the recession, according to a report from market analyst Verdict.
    The comparative strength of childrenswear has been attributed to a mini-baby boom during the recession as well as the tendency for people to delay having children and so accumulate more disposable income to spend on them than younger parents used to.
    Verdict lead analyst Maureen Hinton said: “Clothing retailers are looking for new opportunities to grow their sales and childrenswear is a natural extension of adult ranges to attract incremental sales. The likes of H&M and Zara have been giving their childrenswear ranges a higher profile and parents are buying more online, not just because of its convenience, but also the access it gives to lesser known, more exclusive, ranges.”
