City Break, Copenhagen

Denmark’s capital Copenhagen is probably one of my favourite cities in Europe. Excellent for interior design, shoes and clothing shops, vintage and second hand treasures, traditional Danish lunches and extraordinary Michelin restaurants.
Copenhagen is a very children friendly city too. You have places reserved on buses and trains for pushchairs, kids menus in restaurants, and reduced entrance at all museums, galleries and entertainments. Kids are indeed fully incorporated into the everyday life of the city, which makes Copenhagen a perfect city for visiting for families.
A must visit attraction is the Tivoli, website, a old style circus for both kids and their parents, offering both the fun of the fair, the peacefulness of a park and it has a nostalgic and classy feel to it. We’ll be taking the girls for the first time this summer and are very much looking forward to it!

What’s on of attractions and offers in Copenhagen, in addition to the super friendly locals:

Nyhavn is the perfect place to enjoy a stroll, a drink and a al fresco dining during the warm summer months.

Scandinavian Christmas markets – Copenhagen

From mid November until the end of December Copenhagen is transformed into one big Christmas Market, consisting of several big and small markets and events all over the city. We highly recommend our favourite annual Christmas markets; The festive and fun Tivoli Copenhagen and the more traditional and charming market Nyhavn, both fantastic Christmas experience for both adults and children.

The shops have extended opening hours and with all the Christmas lights, decoration and music the Christmas shopping is turned into a relaxed and cheerful event. Enjoy some “æbleskiver” and “gløgg” while listing to live Christmas music from a nearby concert. Or enjoy a proper Christmas dinner in one of Copenhagen’s many awarded gourmet restaurants.

It’s been too long!

Trying not to mention the hottest subject over the last week that we all are slowly growing tired of I have to admit that we had our return journey from our Easter Holiday in Norway unexpectedly changed from a simple 2 hours flight into traveling through Northern Europe by car, boat and train, staying at various of places whilst waiting for Euro Star to have 4 seats available for the last leg of our journey…

It’s amazing how rural Scandinavia suddenly is when there is no flights. But what an adventure at the same time when you have to travel more than 1200 miles through Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium and France in order to get back home.

Picture to the left is shot by Amélie, of her new souvenir from Brussels. Looking very happy to finally be on the train, going to his new home in the UK.

Picture shows two little Scandinavians missing the ferry in Rodbyhavn, Denmark by only 2 minutes.

Anyway! It’s lovely to be back in sunny London! First thing I did was clearing out our winter clothes, making space for Spring Summer! Thank you for visiting and looking forward to catching up!
