About La Robe D’Ida
La robe d’Ida presents a reinterpretation of the pinafore dress worn in Sweden during the 1920s. Capturing the essence of the girls depicted in Astrid Lindgren’s books, the model is often associated with Madicken, Lisabeth, Kajsa, Anna, Britta and Ida – all strong personalities with leaps and bounds of imagination, young heroines full of joie de vivre.
La robe d’Ida is made in France. The materials – linen, silk and cotton – are of highest quality. The cut – both structured and soft – is also sophisticated and spontaneous. La robe d’Ida wants the wearer to feel elegant and free.
La robe d’Ida is fashion for little girls who want to express a certain creativity and individuality through their clothes.
It is about feeling free and feeling pretty while playing! www.larobedida.com

Molo enchanting deer print for autumn 2010

The most delightful of prints, this breathtaking deer in a enchanted forest, from danish Molo Kids will tempt the girls this autumn, made in soft cotton in a comfortable cut and covered with gorgeous deers and flowers all the way around.
This enchanted forest print will probably make us think of Disney’s Bambi but truth is that this theme has a long history, being described in some of the oldest folklores around the world.

Nordic Kids think this is the ultimate in dainty woodland chic! We think the deer print is stunning and that the colours are perfect for the coming autumn and winter season.

No girls wardrobe should be without a garment this gorgeous! Available in sizes 0 – 12 years.

They have the most friendly and helpful Scandinavian girls working in the shop. The shop in its self, being so contemporary bright and airy, that for a moment you actually think you are in the land of midnight sun again.

The Bridesmaid Dress

It is being reported by the Swedish press that Princess Ingrid Alexandra of Norway would be a bridesmaid at Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden’s wedding.

While neither the Swedish or Norwegian royal houses have confirmed this rumor it’s widely speculated that 6 year-old Ingrid Alexandra, first in line to the Norwegian throne, would be part of her godmother’s bridal party this June 19th. We are not only left with speculating whether she actually will take part or not but also what she might wear.

When her grandparents, the King and Queen of Norway got married in 1968 the bridesmaids wore quite controversial turquoise dresses. And when her parents, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Norway got wed i 2003 the bridesmaids wore cream and dusky pink dresses.

Maybe she’ll wear a simple and romantic dress, like the bridesmaid dress shown in the picture to the right from Danish occasion wear label Lilly.

Ida’s dress

A Swedish designer is behind the french label La robe d’Ida that presents a reinterpretation of the pinafore dress worn in Sscandinavia during the 1920s. Inspired by Astrid Lindgren’s books and the characters Madicken, Lisabeth, Kajsa, Anna, Britta and especially Emil’s little sister Ida. These are young heroins with strong personalities, lots of imagination and who are full joy and life.

In my forest, dusk and dawn have the time to say hello to each other… The nights are white and the animals no longer have to hide. The fox jumps around just near me. The rabbit follows. We run after each other… between the fir trees, across the path of light.
The Woods of Vilhelmina are unlike the others. They are soft; under our bare feet lie an ocean of green moss. The dragonflies land on my back, the anemones leave petals on my skin. The mystery, the magic and the sun that never sleeps… everything belongs to me.

The collection “In the Woods of Vihelmina“ was created in collaboration with the illustrator Anna Karlson.

New brand alert: Ewa i Walla

New brand, or at least to me(!) Ewa i Walla creates beautiful pieces for girls age 2 – 8 years, and for their fashionable mums.
Swedish label Ewa i Walla was founded back in 1990, and presents two new collections every year. Their first children collection was launched AW09.
The collection has a sense nostalgia and is a unusual mix of countryside romance and haute couture and it’s made by natural fabrics like cotton, linen, silk and wool.

Getting dressed should not be a matter-of-fact, it should not be a task accomplished in a whisper of time and with as little thought involved as possible. Even from a young age, children have temperaments that are distinctly theirs. Why not let their creativity be shown through their clothing!!

This is the perfect label to look into if you are having a very special occasion coming up or just simply want to stand out from the crowd.

One thing is for sure, this dress (in picture) will turn heads!
