Did you know that most children in Scandinavia would wear proper rain gear like waterproof dungarees and jacket or a all-in-one combined with wellington boots and Souwester hat. Children seldom wear a raincoat and a umbrella. Like how would they be able to explore that muddy puddle then?
Norwegian wellington boots for children and adults from Moose Reflex are the worlds first approved reflex rain boots. Made of superb high quality natural rubber and it comes with a pair of welly socks in soft wool that will keep you warm and comfortable.
We like the stars that are not only fashionable and fun but also very practical, as you will easy be spotted in the dark.
They launched their first collection this year and has so far been well received in Scandinavia. Hope to see some Moose Reflex out in Europe and in the UK as well!

Lucky Ellen is a Swedish designer label that offers romantic vintage with a modern twist for girls from five years and up.
They’ve used fabric from Liberty in their latest collection which we find very exciting.

Love the combination of this very casual summer pieces matched with Swedish Hasbeens clogs for a bit more grown up girls. Very summery and very 70′s indeed!

We’ll almost think summer is here with temperatures over 20 degrees this weekend. And it’s definitively time for spring and summer shoes!
Children’s feet grows quickly both in length and with, in average 15-18 mm per year. So it’s important to measure your child’s feet often and at at least every second month.
I’m a bit mad when it comes to this and measure my little Scandinavians at least every month because I’ve experienced that they suddenly can do a growth spurt.
Picture on the left shows gorgeous open toe sandals from Bisgaard in this seasons fashionable coral finish that any girl will love.
Made from 100% leather these are soft, comfortable, hard wearing and long lasting.
Available in EU sizes 26 – 31 at £49.99 from Kidsen.co.uk

What to consider when buying new footwear for your child:
- Measure the length while your child stands. Add another 10-15 mm to the foot and you’ll have the length of the inner sole of a shoe that fits length vise.
- I prefer shoes that has a round tip and low heel and that are made of leather or fabric that breaths.
- It’s recommended to always try on the shoe before buying, to make sure it fit in the with as well. But if you know the with of your child’s foot, and you know the brand you are buying, it’s not too risky purchasing online either. Also several of the online shops offer a return possibility in case they don’t fit (or you don’t like them after all).

Retro wellington boots from danish designer Petit by Sofie Schnoor is arriving in the shops these days.
Simple style, quite nostalgic and a bit retro. Reminds me of a pair of blue Norwegian Viking wellington boots I used to have as a child. -Which I loved!
Visit PetitbySofieSchnoor.com for more footwear and to find out where to get hold of a pair.
Wellies presented to you on a rainy day. Where did the sunshine go?

There is a new shoe brand for children out, and on its way to the UK. Danish Pom Pom have the simple philosophy that shoes should be made of the highest quality and at the same time be affordable. I had a look at them recently, and they seem like a bargain to me.
The prices are as promised surprisingly low. And the leather feels soft and comfortable. I also love the design. Available for babies and children up to size EU 32.

The Moccis moccasin created by London-based Swedish designer, Anna Wetterlin, is made of natural ecotex certified materials. The finishing touches are made by hand. The leather sole is durable and flexible, allowing the foot to move freely and muscles to develop. The skid proof sole ensures no slipping or sliding. The sewed in double elastic at the ankle prevents the moccasin from falling off. The moccasins is machine washable in 40 degrees and should be hang dried.
Beatrice and Amélie both had moccasins when we used to live in Norway. They were great, especially during the stage where they learn to crawl and walk, since they grip to the floor, keep small feet warm and don’t fall off. Your baby or toddler would love their comfy Moccis. Choose from a variety of colours and prints, price from £18 and in all sizes from baby to adult.
Not sure if I’m going to order a pair for myself though.

I think we just have to face it, the selection of clothing for boys is not as great as the selection for girls. It has become a lot better, but still we can get tired of cargo pants and stripy and printed tees. It’s hard to find boys clothing that really stands out.
The Scandinavian designers are really striving to do something with that, by using the highest quality fabrics (and of course organic cotton where possible and Fairtrade) with a lot of attention to details. They take pride in making clothes allowing children to be children. The clothes are fun and playful yet functional and comfortable, something active boys knows to appreciate.
Moose T long sleeve top from Mini A Ture is a good example of what cool, trendy tops should look like for boys. A cut out shape of a grey moose’s head on a vibrant blue background to the right of the tee, available from Nest. Oh! And did i mention it’s on sale for only £11?
Pair it with jeans from MarMar Copenhagen (available from Nordic Kids), belt from Rebus and rough leather shoes from Bisgaard.

Amélie is absolutely head over heels in love with her new champagne coloured boots from danish Sofie Schnoor. I ordered them Sunday night at CooCooMashu, and they arrived this morning, well packed. I hope she’ll not be insisting wearing them to bed tonight.
