Jazzed up AW10 news from Christina Rohde

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Being a pioneer in creating Scandinavian children’s designer wear danish designer Christina Rohde started up back in 1991. The label is known for a romantic, nostalgic almost bohemian look with their loose and flowery print on soft cotton made into the most comfortable yet stylish garments.
However it seems like the label Christina Rohde are renewing themselves slightly this season, or so it seems from their presentation of the collection.

And some more AW pics, only a bit more like how we used to know Christina Rohde

If you look closely many of the garments are still the same, with the same typical Christina Rohde signature cut and finish.
So, what do you prefer? The more nostalgic look or the new almost “geek chic” style?

Marmar Copenhagen discreet and utterly irresistible

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

As one of the former head designers at well known label Mini A Ture danish designer Marlene Anine Holmboe had all the expertise and experience to start her own brand, Marmar Copenhagen, summer 2008.
With a goal to achieve toned down elegance for children, where romantic appearance and sharp graphic prints are the contrasts the label strives to offer a window into a world of fashion for little people that creates its own subtle style statement.

With detailing restricted to only the most important elements and muted colour tones, it can almost come as a surprise to find an eye-catching twist in their collection. MarMar Copenhagen is contrasting mix of contemporary functionalism and classic vintage.

Available at idreamelephants.com and nordickids.co.uk

Nostalgic retro design by Holly’s

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Holly’s was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2002 when Britt Bonnesen and Camilla Anderson desicede to give the 70s four-leaf clover new life.

Initially they launched only a baby collection but as the retro design got a lot of positive feedback they were encouraged to develop Holly’s further and their clothes are now available for all children -and their mummies!

I discovered Holly’s for the first time in my favourite children’s fashion shop in Oslo, Shabby. It must have been in 2003 – 2004, I saw the soft cotton underwear and the super cute little baby hats for the first time.

The four-leaf clover print has become an integral part of each collection with the basics and then a few new variations every season.

Picture to the left shows the simply divine Holly’s Coral Cotton Clover Baby Romper, was £24.00 now £15.60 at Yellow Lolly

Molo enchanting deer print for autumn 2010

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

The most delightful of prints, this breathtaking deer in a enchanted forest, from danish Molo Kids will tempt the girls this autumn, made in soft cotton in a comfortable cut and covered with gorgeous deers and flowers all the way around.
This enchanted forest print will probably make us think of Disney’s Bambi but truth is that this theme has a long history, being described in some of the oldest folklores around the world.

Nordic Kids think this is the ultimate in dainty woodland chic! We think the deer print is stunning and that the colours are perfect for the coming autumn and winter season.

No girls wardrobe should be without a garment this gorgeous! Available in sizes 0 – 12 years.

You do get a true Scandinavian feel here; They have an impressing selection ov everything from kids fashion to furniture and design from all our favourite Scandinavian brands. They have the most friendly and helpful Scandinavian girls working in the shop. The shop in its self, being so contemporary bright and airy, that for a moment you actually think you are in the land of midnight sun again.

Retro design from Little Duckling

Thursday, June 24th, 2010

Up and coming brand Little Duckling had another brilliant stand at Bubble showing their Spring Summer 2011 collection. Their stand clearly stood out with their colllection in primary colours such as red and blue, some items with a strong graphic print. All themed up with vintage furniture and toys to create a complete feeling.

A very charming danish designer is behind this London based brand. There are two limited unique collections a year which are all produced to a very high standard. Spring Summer 2010 shown below, clearly 70′ retro and unbelievable sweet.
