Street look London: Urban Jungle

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

We met this little fellow in a playground near Soho yesterday, extremely cute and adventures, playing imaginative games with a few new pigeon friends he had made.

Dressed very comfortable and yet with an understated urban style in danish clothes -in fact after a quick chat with his mum I found out they were danish!

This little guy was wearing a cool tshirt from Molo and shoes from Portuguese label RAP, a brand that has been available in Denmark for more than 30 years. I’m not quite sure about what jeans he was wearing, but I really liked the casual turn-up style.

How to get the look:

Any funky stripy or and bold print t-shirt from Katvig or Molo will work.
We recommend I Dig Denim or Rockefella jeans but any favourite comfy pair is perfect.
Choose leather sandals of good quality, like Angulus or Bisgaard.

Pictures for inspiration

It’s more and more common for Scandinavian independent children’s fashion shops to use professional photographer to promote a new collection. Swedish photographer Maria Wingfors has shot some lovely pictures for Swedish independent shop Småtufft, with gorgeous little fashion models Winnie, Emmie, Malcolm and Ofeliaare (children of the shop owners).

I love their personal blog that features a lot of colourful and cute Scandinavian children’s clothing.

I spy with my little eye something beginning with I Dig Denim and Molo

I Dig Denim

Friday, January 29th, 2010

And yes I do! Who hasn’t got a relationship to denim? But I Dig Denim is not only my statement it’s also a brand new designer name for children’s wear from Scandinavia. Swedish based I Dig Denim have received a warm welcome so far. Milla Milano stated: ”The coolest jeans were some I bought from a new Swedish brand, it’s going to be a success.”
The founder and head of design Hanna Clavegaard noticed that the market lacked a unique, exciting jeans brand for the little ones:

”I have always loved jeans, from the character of the fabric to how it can be shaped and adapted according to style and taste. Denim is timeless, easy to wear and practical. With my brand I want to give all children what I love. It’s simple: I dig denim.”

I Dig Denim produces their collection, available for babies, boys and girls up to 10 years, according to the Fairtrade principles. With the first collection only consisting of a few items it’s a humble start, but there is more to come. All in denim, of course.

I Dig Denim is jeans with attitude, for small people with big personalities.
