Little Duckling for SS13 beautiful nostalgic childrenswear

It is fun to follow a designer developing, impressing every season with yet another fantastic collection. Little Duckling is such a brand. Consistently delivering high quality children’s wear for a growing amount of devoted customers around the world. Famous for a range of nostalgic girls dresses, Little Duckling have for this season made a broad collection for the boys as well. And everything about it is just right, from the colour palette of pale shades combined with strong primary colours, prints and button details to a few unisex key pieces. And yes -we love the dresses by Little Duckling for Spring Summer 2013 too, that will take you from daywear to more formal occasions. We’ve also completely fallen for the fish print seen on everything from tees and dresses to the behind of cute little baby and toddlers leggings. If we’ll manage to get hold of it when it reaches the stores, the darling 30′s style girls with fish print is high up on our wish list for next summer.

This is a collection we’ll expect to see in many fashionable independent stores around the UK from early Spring 2013.

Did you manage to get hold of a Little Duckling piece in John Lewis this season? This Scandinavian Fashion brand was picked up by John Lewis for SS12, and is currently on sale. Will be exciting to see if they’ll continue the label next season.

The collection will also be available online from the Little Duckling online shop.

Bubble London June 2012 {Trends and Preview} for SS13

Bubble London first day was hectic with a great buzz and lots of visitors throughout the day. It was indeed a very positive and enthusiastic atmosphere in the Business Design Centre. Exactly what’s needed, so a well done to the Bubble team!
Noticeable was the presence of the “Homegrown” brands, with Bubble London giving the British Fashion industry some extra support and thumbs up. Very appropriate considering happenings like the Jubilee and the Olympics this year but also from a environmentally point of view, supporting local economy and reducing our carbon footprint. Still Bubble London is quite an international event with a significant number of influential French, Spanish, American and Australian brands presenting their coming SS13 collections in London.
The most striking trend for SS13 is probably the use of nostalgic styles with an array of colours that combined creates such a reassuring and positive feeling. Important for SS13 is buy quality, choose timeless and unisex, hand down and upcycle.
Considering what we saw on display in Islington today I think for 2013 we’ll have a bright and sunny Summer ahead of us.

Little Scandinavian was on the judging panel of the “Bubble London Stand Out Award SS13″. A lot of the exhibitors had done a tremendous effort in creating an inspirational stand so it was a very hard decision. But we landed on a very playful and creative stand with a great attention to detail, reflecting the brands vision and products and in general really standing out!
A big well done and congratulations to Indikidual! Your stand was a firm favourite among all the judges!

Runners up were Little Troll and Rock N’ Regal both very different but inspirational stands. Photo by Bubble Blog

First day of Bubble London done and over with -one more day to go. No judging tomorrow -so I’m looking forward to take a closer look at the collections for Spring Summer 2013. Let me know if you want me to look for anything in particular! I’ll be tweeting live from the show on @ScandinavianMum
We also recommend heading over to the Smudgetikka Blog for great reports from Bubble London.

Scandinavian children’s fashion brand picked up by John Lewis

Little Scandinavian discovered Little Duckling back in June 2010, after seeing the SS11 collection at Bubble London. Founded in 2008 by a London based Danish designer, Little Duckling quickly gained popularity in independent shops around the UK.

With a bright and playful Spring Summer 2012 collection Little Duckling is now available in John Lewis, both at their flagship London store in Oxford Street and John Lewis online
We are very excited to see a fairly new independent brand like Little Duckling being picked up by a leading UK department store. We congratulate Rosa and her team!

Favourite outfits for Autumn Winter 2011

Corina Papadopoulou, founder of the Scandinavian Children’s Store KIDSEN, lives in London with her husband and two gorgeous daughters. They’ve recently returned from a lovely summer holiday in Sweden, being busy visiting family and friends and most certainly also being scouting for new cool children’s fashion and design brands! Back in UK, and no time to rest as both girls are back to school and with all the news for Autumn Winter 2011 arriving daily it’s rock´n roll over at Kidsen. We had a chat with Corina about what’s new and what brands and style’s that excites her this season. She’s kindly taken the time to put together a few outfits;
Corina’s favourite outfits for Autumn/Winter 2011 -enjoy!

Little Miss Urban Cool

To help your Little Miss step out in style the popular Hummel High Tops now come with fur lining and this purple pair is a winner. Team them with a long sleeve grey marl sweater dress from Mini Rodini. It has a fun dancing bear print complete with an appliqué tutu. Worn with leggings or fun tights what’s not to love! To keep ears snug these stripy Molo Kandy Earmuffs in Party Pink are practical and utterly irresistible. Finally, no urban cool outfit is complete without this funky Mini Rodini retro style jacket. In earthy colours with faux leather cuffs it’s a fabulous head turning piece.

Little Miss City Chic

FUB is my brand of the season and this Yellow Melange Skirt will put everyone in a spin. Girly, pretty and vivid it looks great teamed with FUB’s stylish grey leggings and beautiful soft wool cardigan in a neutral shade with contrasting red and yellow trims and buttons. It’s truly divine! To give the outfit an edge I have teamed the skirt with Pom Pom’s fur cowboy boots in camel. 100% leather upper with cute contrast stitching and rubber soles they are designed to be as kind to little feet as possible while still looking fab – I want a pair!

Little Man Too Cute for School

For Little Men I love these Little Duckling soft grey cords, a great alternative to jeans. They are comfortable to wear but robust enough to withstand little boy antics! Team them with great looking Pom Pom grey Chelsea Boots which have stitch details and elastic sides which make getting on and off a breeze. This season every boy’s wardrobe should have a checked shirt. This Mini A Ture Gabriel Shirt is super stylish and can be layered for different looks. To finish the outfit I’ve added this fashionable navy jacket from Mini Rodini. With cute poppered pockets, a panda motif and silky lining it has a stamp of individuality to ensure boys are dressed to impress.

Retro design from Little Duckling

Up and coming brand Little Duckling had another brilliant stand at Bubble showing their Spring Summer 2011 collection. Their stand clearly stood out with their colllection in primary colours such as red and blue, some items with a strong graphic print. All themed up with vintage furniture and toys to create a complete feeling.

A very charming danish designer is behind this London based brand. There are two limited unique collections a year which are all produced to a very high standard. Spring Summer 2010 shown below, clearly 70′ retro and unbelievable sweet.
