Scandinavian Rainwear for children

I discovered this brand when I met Ole, the Norwegian who produces Smoked Salmon the Scandinavian way in the middle of London. His rainwear looked both retro and highly technical at the same time. The real deal! Then it turns out Aalesund Oljeklede has developed a solid history and tradition in the Norwegian manufacturing business and is the market leader in clothing for fishermen along a rugged coastline through many decades. Now they’ve added a children’s rainwear range from 6-14 years that will keep Junior both dry and warm through stormy autumn winter days.

Fam Irvoll SS12 at Oslo Fashion week

Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Pixie Geldof have already discovered the playful designer wear by Fam Irvoll.
Fam Irvoll has previously collaborated with the popular tween brand Wow and Me.

Oslo Fashion week is on (8-14.Aug) and the Norwegian designer used the opportunity to launch her coming collections for Spring Summer 2012 with a spectacular show, for both her adult and children line. And it was in particular the children’s collection that caught the eye of many a trend spotter.

We wonder if Fam perhaps has been inspired by her newborn daughter Noelle to focus even more on children’s wear?

Finger in the Nose Nordic trend for AW11

Fair Isle knit, checked shirts and dresses, nature and animal prints and even Troll has made it on to some of the tee’s. No question that the Autumn Winter 2011 collection by the Norwegian designer behind the French based brand Finger in the Nose is influenced by Scandinavian traditions and the Nordic countries nature. We love the mix and match of pattern and fabrics that take this collection up to a more urban and modern level. We think this collection, arguable the best collection so far, shows that Finger in The Nose does a lot more than well fitted and cool jeans. www.fingerinthenose.com
Notice the fur boots in picture 4? It’s Selskinnstøvler or seal skin boots. The ultimate winter boots in Norway, made by the Norwegian brand Topaz is warm, long-lasting and very popular among Norwegians. www.topaz.no

Utterly gorgeous girls summer outfit by Dundelina

This outfit ticks all the boxes; It’s well made, it’s beautiful to look at, it does have a nostalgic touch taking you back to your won childhood memories of summer and it’s fun with lot’s of playful details. Little A danced around with the lovely balloon styled dress that does swing! She was excited about the light and soft cotton shirt; It has wings mummy! Do you think I can fly wearing this?
And she was even more excited when she realised that the bird had a pocket hidden underneath it’s beak; For my treasures, mummy!
I love the well made button closing at the back, the polka dot fabric and matching inner layer of heavy high quality fabric and I love the pretty blouse. This is a set that amazes me. We have enjoyed the beautiful design by the Norwegian based designer Dundelina in the past but this set truly amazes us, and Little A can’t wait to wear it to non uniform day at the end of term -and probably for the entire summer holiday! www.dundelina.com

Preview Pale Cloud SS12 at Bubble London

Preview for Pale Cloud Spring Summer 2012
Don’t let Pale Cloud subtle and neutral colours deceive you into thinking that you know the collection by one single glance. Every single item is packed with details like pleats, smock embroidery in their cloud signature style, rough edges, cloud elbow patch, sequins, pleated sleeves and collars, heavy gold buttons and pearls on straps. And even if you might start wondering whether these clothes come in your size too, the chic style is completely created with little people in mind; The clothes are perfectly shaped for little round shoulders, children’s tummies and giving enough room for a childs active lifestyle. The fabric used is a mix of luxurious silk, cashmere, leather and cotton. A tee I looked at was so soft -turned out that that was a blend with camel hair, from the pure under coat that are so soft and plush. Only the best for your child!
Pale Cloud Spring Summer 2012 is available for girls in size 2-10 years.

We requested clothes for the boys too and extending the sizes up to 12years. They didn’t say no… Fingers crossed for AW12! Pale Cloud’s very first collection AW11 will hit the stores in UK early September. We’ll keep you posted as stock will be limited.
