Pale Cloud is the brainchild of the talented Norwegian designer Marion and her husband Ian, highly inspired by their daughter.

The couple’s international experience and Marion’s expertise within the high end and luxury marked is very obvious in Pale Cloud’s very first collection for Autumn Winter 2011.
The garments have been beautifully cut and tailored. The finest materials have been used; Silks, Cashmere, Alpaca and Angora. The colour palette has a delicate look, with dusty pinks, cream and greys as well as neutrals tones. There is the charm of old classic elements twisted into contemporary design to embrace the fashion forward girl.

Ian about the photo: “Stella lives in Oslo and the photo was shot by the awarded Norwegian photographer Sigve Aspelund. This was the only time Stella was upset during the entire shoot but the image just stood out.”
Apparently both Angry Stella and the collection by Pale Cloud got lots of attention at Pitti Bimbo. So maybe we’ll see a happier Stella next time?

For details, please visit <a href="http://www.pale-cloud.com"target="_blank">www.pale-cloud.com or visit their stand at Bubble London in a few days! Meanwhile take a look at these pictures from Pitti Bimbo, by Pale Cloud

I couldn’t help thinking about wool today. It was drizzling on the way to school and properly pouring on my way back home. Luckily I was dressed in wool, so I stayed comfortable, warm and dry.
With weather like what we have now it’s nothing more comfortable than wool or wool mix underwear. For our children as well.
I spoke with a pregnant friend on the phone this morning. She was listing up her shopping list of baby gear that she want to have sorted before the little one arrives. We were discussing newborn clothes and she was asking questions like “How many baby grows do I need to start off with” etc. And my mind kept wandering off, again thinking off wool.
I think the following would be on my shopping list for any newborn; Wool underwear from Norwegian brand Lilli & Leopold. Soft organic merino wool. So comfortable with such a sweet expression. When only the best is good enough.

Natalie Goatley!

Congratulations! We have sent you an email! Will you please replay with your full name and address to us on:
post@littlescandinavian.com and one warming winter essential for your baby will be on it’s way to you!

Todays giveaway is warm, high quality baby blanket, knitted in soft merino wool, by LilleLam. A must have during such a frosty winter as now! Size 75 cm x 100 cm, retails for €82.

About Lille Lam
LilleLam was established by two newly-become-mothers finding it hard to get hold of garments for children in pure wool, with an outstanding and functional design, and which does not irritate the skin of the babies and children.
This was the beginning of LilleLam, producing high quality garments in close collaboration with Norwegian designers and produced in 100% soft merino wool.
The design has simple yet with embroidery and patterns sourced from their Nordic heritage.

Great importance has been placed on the practical solutions of the garments, but also on possibility of “growth”. Fold-ups are employed wherever it is possible, so that the child can use the garment through several seasons.
Whereas the design recalls elements of the past, the clean and pure wool material is based on the latest technological development. The wool is of the softest kind and does not itch or irritate the skin. The wool is “super-wash” treated and can consequently safely be washed in the washing-machine on a wool program without shrinking or change of dimensions.

Adventslys is four candles, traditionally purple in colour but as a modern “all white Scandi Christmas” white is common, placed in the “adventsstake”, a tray or candleholder used for putting the candles on or in. These can be simple or decorated as you please.

One is lit every week starting on the first Sunday of Advent, so that by the Christmas Eve the candles are different heights.
Families usually gather together each Sunday afternoon in Advent to lid the candle(s) and some say a poem together with their children, like the poem Advent by the Norwegian Poet Inger Hagerup.

Each of the four Sundays has a different aspect: joy, hope, longing and peace.

We wish you all a peaceful first Sunday in Advent.

It’s affordable, the style is funky and functional for the older children that want to dress trendy without looking like adults. Proper Scandinavian tween fashion!

Their latest collection for Christmas 2010, designed by the Norwegian fashion designer <a href="http://www.famirvoll.com/"target="_blank">Fam Irvoll was launched at a big <a href="http://www.wowandmeblog.com/?p=229"target="_blank">Wow and me party in Oslo last Thursday. The launch was rather successful with lots of cheerful tween Wow-and-me fans attending. Picture shows two happy girls, in fun and bright Wow and me clothes, arriving at the party.

I’m not too sure about how environmentally concerned the label are, neither the quality of the clothes.
However I must admit I’m really pleased to see how popular decent tween clothes can be thinking of the earlier mentioned not exactly utterly hilarious trends for children and tweens.
