Soft organic merino wool next-to-skin children’s underwear

We’ve had frosty mornings in London lately and both girls are now in itch free wool underwear underneath the School uniform, keeping them warm and dry throughout the day. We’ve mentioned Lilli & Leopold before, with regards to staying warm and dry with wool underwear. The girls wears the essential off white tank top, the long sleeved top and leggings; Little A has a beautiful dusty pink set in size 7y and Little B has a blue set in size 10y, slightly more grown up. Lilli & Leopold wool underwear are true to size and do not shrink much. The wool garments are produced under organic conditions and is so soft and luxurious that it can be worn next to the skin of even the most delicate babies and child as it’s naturally non allergenic and itch free, while at the same time giving a durable fabric which will endure numerous washes, by hand or on a wool program 30C using detergent designed for wool.
We think wool underwear is essential in any wardrobe especially when the temperature drops down to only a few plus degrees.

Wool underwear -a everyday treat on cold days

It was frost this morning! Did you know that in Scandinavia we say that you should wear wool clothes during all the months with an R, meaning September to April. We think wool should be next to skin, to regulate the body temperature and to keep dry and warm. Our girls are wearing wool underwear now, especially on days like this with frost and cold wind. It was already gloomy on our way home from school today, so as soon as we came home we decided to make hot chocolate with whipped cream as a treat. Both girls now relaxing after a long day at school, leisuring in their organic wool underwear from Änglamark -cozy on a dark day of December.

I’ve just had a browse through the newest Shampoodle look book images for Spring Summer 2012 -and I must say! It was really hard to do a selection as they’ve done it again; Created a desirable, luscious ethically-minded organic clothing for children in a cool, urban yet relaxed and playful style. They’ve also used gorgeous mini models showcasing a collection more extensive than ever.

Another wonderful collection from the up and coming Norwegian children’s fashion brand Tiny Doe. Present at Bubble London in February 2010 and still very new to the British marked the brand has success in Scandinavia with high quality, organic clothes for trendy girls 2y-10y.

Lille Barn for Spring Summer 2011

The popular brand Lille Barn is about to launch their new collection for Spring Summer 2011 online by the end of this week, the 20th of March.
The UK based childrens wear company produces garments available in cotton, (including an extensive organic range) bamboo and soft merino wools and cater for children from 0 to 6 years of age.

Lille Barns signature style is simple, with a Scandinavian feel to it as the head designer is Norwegian.

This season there is chunky knits, fine cotton cashmere blends, daisy print, ditzy print, multicoloured bamboo, solid bamboo, oxford denim, sailor print and striped poplin.

We love the fine knits that are practical (washable and easy to put on and off). Wonder if Little A should get a summer dress this year. It might be her last chance if Reidun is not considering extending the sizes, to fit older children too.

Bonkeli -eco friendly clouds from Sweden to the UK

Bonkeli, a family run design company based in Sweden, is offering a limited edition range of clothes for kids with a collection of t shirts and baby accessories made entirely out of compostable materials, the clothes being certified as Cradle-to-Cradle.
The Cradle-to-Cradle design concept is based upon the idea of making products that fit into the life-cycle of nature. By using only bio-degradable materials like cotton and wool, no poisonous waste materials are produced.
The print on the baby clothes are sweet but we simply adore the Cloud shirt as shown in the picture, with lovely playful design in simple colours made of the softest organic cotton.
