Petit by Sofie Schnoor Stylish yet laid back Spring Summer 2013

It’s April and Spring should have made an appearance by now. Meanwhile, snow is falling from the sky and its bitterly cold outside. Growing tired with heavy winter coats and woollen jumpers I’m tempted to ignore the weather, get the winter clothes out of the way to make room for some summer. Surely it most be just around the corner?

The Danish children’s fashion photographer Anders Hald has shared these wonderful campaign pictures from Petit by Sofie Schnoor with us. With the images he’s managed to capture the essence of the Danish brand; Stylish yet laid back, funky and highly wearable.

Wish it was my children, dipping their toes in the pool on a hot summer evening. I wouldn’t mind the leopard jumpsuit either, or the cotton knits, or the denim pieces… -I simply couldn’t resist sharing them. Bring on Summer -pretty please!?

Knitted Poncho in a Nordic style by Scandinavian Designers

Poncho is a great garment for children as it’s easy to put on and off and it keeps them toast and warm on the colder days.
I’m wearing my poncho today. It’s like being wrapped in a wool blanket, and wether it’s walking on the street or sitting down in the park -it’s a feeling of warmth and comfort.

Danish brand Norlie has several ponchos in their newest collection, probably because of the incresing demand after the Danish Princess Isabelle was spotted wearing one last winter. These to are our favourite from norlie.dk

Children’s shoes and boots from Scandinavia

So as a follow up to yesterdays post about where to buy children’s shoes in the UK I wanted to share a few pics of Autumn Winter 2012 news from two Copenhagen trade shows CPH kids and CIFF kids.

Celebrating The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

Dropped off a very excited little A to school today, wearing a gorgeous blue silk Alice dress by Pale Cloud, white cardigan and gold shoes, with a bright red rose in her hair -and the British flag waiving in her hand. Perhaps she is right when she says that a part of her is indeed become British after living most of her life here.
The school invited to a “street party” today to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. All were to dress in blue, white and red, there were lots of party food being brought in, flags garlands waving across the school ground, lots of excited party dressed children entering the gates -think the weekends party has begun!

Marking 60 years of The Queen’s reign, the Diamond Jubilee celebrations will take place around an extended weekend on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June. Communities all around the country will be celebrating and there will be many ways to get involved in local events. Netmums have local boards with useful information for families.
But if we were to stay in London we would have gone to the Diamond Jubilee Street Party taking place in Bermondsey Street. The street will be closed to traffic, tables and chairs laid out, dress up in 1950′ style (best outfit will win a prize), St Mary Magdalen church bells peal; Diamond Jubilee, picnic and 1950′s live music, cake tasting and cake competition and other children’s activities. Bermondsey Street, Long Lane to Tanner Street 1.00pm – 5.30pm, Monday 4th June 2012

Peach, orange, pink and hot pink Spring in London

Yes, it is raining more or less every day. And the temperature is probably around 8 -feels like 4. But now and then there is sunny spells, trees and flowers blossoming and birds singing cheerful songs of Spring.
We used the opportunity to head out for a meal during a sunny spell yesterday, Little A all peach (one of our favourite colours for this season) teamed with a dash of orange, pink and hot pink; Mini Rodini Eiffel dress, Pale Cloud Inez raincoat, Gudrun Sjoden spotty scarf and Petit by Sofie Schnoor peach ballerina pump. Neighbours blossoming cherry tree.

The Spring Summer 2012 collection by Danish children’s fashion brand Petit by Sofie Schnoor is one of our favourites. Known for subtle colours and romantic styles they’ve gone a bit more bohemian and towards a hippie style for this season, with elements from the 70′ from floral prints combined with laces to straight trousers with cigarette-legs.

We are very much looking forward to see what Petit by Sofie Schnoor will have in store for us for AW12 at CPH Kids in February. Until then, enjoy the up coming summer season -Peace, love & flower power!
