Spring news for Småfolk (Little People)

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Danish Småfolk (means Little people in danish) is such a well known and established brand in the UK so it might surprise you that it was founded only 5 years ago. Their use of vibrant colours knows no boundaries as their kid’s clothes throw all the rules out the window in pursuit of memorable outfits. They almost operate under the mantra that colours can’t clash if they are gorgeous enough. Småfolk love bold colours and prints that make you sit up and take notice! Created for children that want to be noticed, their collections of clothes are anything but dull with patterns that little ones are likely to remember for the rest of their lives…

Their new spring collection is packed with all the stuff you always find in a Småfolk Collection – T-shirts, pants, dresses and lots of baby clothes. But there are also plenty of news like several new dress and sweatshirt models, rainwear and rubber boots in two new colors and their popular bedding in a cream colored background throughout the 8 colors.

Little people! Get ready for lots of beautiful spring experiences with Småfolk!

Spring and Summer news from Lille Barn

Saturday, February 20th, 2010

Lille Barn (Little Children) has managed to create yet a lovely collection in organic merino wool, organic cotton and Bamboo. The London based Norwegian talented and most charming Reidun Oliveira is the head designer behind the brand, and for her the quality of each piece and the love and comfort the child will experience by wearing it is what’s important. She has also chosen to have all her garments produced in Europe, and yet they are still surprisingly affordable.
Lille Barn is clothing for babies and children up to 6 years. Her knitted winter collection in the softest Merino Wool is what the customers really love. But I must admit, this summer collection can not be a disappointment for all Lille Barn fans. Many items like the all in one suit shown to the left is the typical Lille Barn signature style. There is also some lovely fabrics and romantic summer dresses to be found. And many items are mix and match.
But what we are especially impressed about is the boys collection. Chunky knitted organic cotton sweaters in different colours. Comfortable shorts for those hot summer days. And we simply love the reversible jacket with matching bucket hat! Don’t miss out on this one!
Online boutique is to be launched this spring. Meanwhile there are several lovely shops that stock Lille Barn; Kidsen, Cute U Look, Squibbly Biskit, Little Bou and Yellow Lolly

I Dig Denim

Friday, January 29th, 2010

And yes I do! Who hasn’t got a relationship to denim? But I Dig Denim is not only my statement it’s also a brand new designer name for children’s wear from Scandinavia. Swedish based I Dig Denim have received a warm welcome so far. Milla Milano stated: ”The coolest jeans were some I bought from a new Swedish brand, it’s going to be a success.”
The founder and head of design Hanna Clavegaard noticed that the market lacked a unique, exciting jeans brand for the little ones:

”I have always loved jeans, from the character of the fabric to how it can be shaped and adapted according to style and taste. Denim is timeless, easy to wear and practical. With my brand I want to give all children what I love. It’s simple: I dig denim.”

I Dig Denim produces their collection, available for babies, boys and girls up to 10 years, according to the Fairtrade principles. With the first collection only consisting of a few items it’s a humble start, but there is more to come. All in denim, of course.

I Dig Denim is jeans with attitude, for small people with big personalities.

The playsuit

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

A playsuit is by definition a play outfit usually consisting of shorts and a blouse, sometimes in one piece, that is often worn by children.
There were several designers creating beautiful playsuits last year. And a quick look at the spring summer collection 2010 reveals that the playsuit is here to stay, at least for now.
I can’t really make up my mind which one I’ll choose for Beatrice and Amélie. But I’ll for definitivt consider both playsuits from MeMini and Petit by Sofie Schnoor.

Petit by Sofie Schnoor Spring Summer 2010

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

I’m simply adoring the coming collection of danish brand Petit by Sofie Schnoor. Sofie Schnoor launched the first collection in 2007 after seeing there was a gap in the market with the lack of alternatives to modern branded children’s clothing featuring large brand names, strong colours and extreme patterns. The Spring Summer 2010 collection is true to Sofie’s vision, filled with lovely fabrics in subtle colours.
