Small Wings available online

We have previously mentioned the newcomer on the Scandinavian fashion scene for kids wear, danish Small Wings.
It’s the womenswear brand Vadum, founded in 2005 by designer Charlotte Vadum and Vibeke Bernhoft, that is behind this newish brand with their small but utterly cool rock-boho chic collection for boys and girls 3-12y. Small wings is combining clean shapes, quirky details and strong graphical prints influenced by modern art scenes, music and street life. This pics are from their AW10 collection, but we are very much looking forward to share the SS10 collection too!

Nova Star cool soft Swedish children’s design

Recently we met up for a coffee and a chat with charming Nina. Nina, originally from Stockholm Sweden, told us smiling and excited that after having her son Isak in 2009 she wanted to find an alternative to checked shirt and dungarees for boys. She got very much into unique street-style clothes purchased in Scandinavia. And after lots of comments and questions about the urban, unisex and super comfortable children’s wear Isak was wearing she decided to share the Scandinavian secret with the UK and founded her own agency, Fun Little Things, in 2010, with the current main focus on Swedish children’s fashion label Nova Star.

New Brand Alert: Small Wings

Small Wings is the new children’s line from danish designer wear company Vadumsrum. Small Wings is urban clothes for all little trendsetters that enjoy wearing edgy yet comfortable clothes. A website is currently under construction and so far I believe the AW10 collection by Small Wings are only available in Denmark. Here are few pieces we found at www.houseofkids.dk.

New Scandi brand Zilly Banana

Two danish designers Annika Lofqvist and Lena Berg are behind the new Scandinavian brand Zilly Banana Kids wear for children aged 3-10.
Each collection is a limited edition and the clothes are handmade in Europe. Zilly Banana designes comfortable clothes in high quality with graphic prints and colorful applique in a naive expression mixed with happy buttons and fun seams that all together gives Zilly Banana a rather quirky yet urban style for young trendsetters.

Zilly Banana received a warm welcome at the International children’s trade show in Amsterdam, Kleine Fabriek, in July 2010. AW2010 is their second collection on the market, only available to order online at www.zillybanana.com

Street look London: Urban Jungle

We met this little fellow in a playground near Soho yesterday, extremely cute and adventures, playing imaginative games with a few new pigeon friends he had made.

Dressed very comfortable and yet with an understated urban style in danish clothes -in fact after a quick chat with his mum I found out they were danish!

This little guy was wearing a cool tshirt from Molo and shoes from Portuguese label RAP, a brand that has been available in Denmark for more than 30 years. I’m not quite sure about what jeans he was wearing, but I really liked the casual turn-up style.

How to get the look:

Any funky stripy or and bold print t-shirt from Katvig or Molo will work.
We recommend I Dig Denim or Rockefella jeans but any favourite comfy pair is perfect.
Choose leather sandals of good quality, like Angulus or Bisgaard.
