Bubble London June 2012 Final Round-Up

Another show have successfully been pulled off, two hectic days of buying for season Spring Summer 2013. In the current market Bubble London decided to pay a tribute to and promote quality British made children’s fashion with the Homegrown installation by the entrance. Nearly 260 collections were on display for buyers to consider on the inside, both British and International brands. I didn’t spot that many Scandinavian brands this season. But a few popular ones, like Mini A Ture, FUB, Milibe, Aya Naya, Molo kids and also a fairly new brand in the UK but worth noticing for a variety of styles to a very affordable price is Name It. Great for a basic wardrobe that are fashiony without having to break the bank.
New this season is the brand new Swedish denim brand World by Swing, launching it’s very first collection. For denim lovers with jackets, dresses and jeans for babies and children up to 8 years. Worth checking out. Also if you’re in the market for 0-5 years olds and looking for great quality, colourful kids clothing at affordable prices another Swedish brand, Villervalla is worth having a look like alongside my personal favourite, the Danish label Smafolk. A must have accessories in all children’s wear shops is the Swedish indoor shoe Moccis. Both my girls have their pair of Moccis and use it frequently around the house. It’s lots of fun new styles for SS13, so all you have to do is choosing your favourite. For outerwear Didrikson is a firm favourite. My raincoat is from Didrikson and you can’t fault the quality.

The Bubble London children’s fashion trade show, the entrance decorated with the “Homegrown” brands, the Stand Out June 2012 winner Indikidual and the runner up, newcomer from the Bubble Gum area Little Troll.

As part of the judges panel in the Stand Out Award June 2012, I’ll fill you in on what was discussed and the reasons for our choice. After an hour on the floor, we went back to discuss or findings. And a lot of names appared in th different notebooks. A lot of stands had really gone out of their way to create a unique and attractive atmosphere for the buyers -so really a big well done to many of the exhibitors!
So why Indikidual? Indikidual -a brand for the Individual Kid had a fairly small stand and had choose to really do the most out of it. The stand was covered in paper, with cardboard details, and a dash of bright neon colours ensuring the stand to stand out from the crowd and complementing not only the collection for SS13 but also the company ethos. It was a firm favourite among all the judges.
Why Little Troll? New to Bubble London was Little Troll with a stand in the dedicated Bubble Gum area. With clever use of the colours and shapes, which is again what’s the main focus of the Norwegian designer behind the brand for her collection, resulting in a striking stand oozing of delightful simplicity. It really made the collection stand out.
A worthy runner up. Rock N Regal was also a runner up with clever use of instruments and also a microphone as a clothing rack -all very rock chic, perfect for the brand and definitely a stand out!
